copilot: GitHub in 2026
Starting in 2026 next year, GitHub will be integrated into Microsoft CoreAI, which resulted in GitHub's CEO Thomas Dohmke stepping down to launch a startup.
GitHub is owned by Microsoft since 2018, and it was Dohmke that pushed for AI, with GitHub Copilot and Spark leading it.
From 2026 onwards, GitHubs independence will be no more, and may also integrate with 365-CoPilot in the near future.
